Improve color, freshness and texture
Medium chemical peels are intended for people who want to improve the color, freshness and texture of facial skin. They can improve skin tone and reduce the visibility of fine wrinkles and superficial discoloration such as age spots.
Medium chemical peels are not intended to correct deep acne scarring or deep wrinkles.
Pre-treatment can help maximize your peel results
4 to 6 weeks before treatment
Pre-treating the skin with skin care products can allow for deeper penetration, faster recovery, a lower risk of discoloration and better results.
- Retin-A may be used as part of the prescribed preparation regimen.
- Glycolic acid may be included in daily skin preparation.
- Bleaching creams may be recommended for the treated area.
- Follow the individualized preparation instructions provided for your skin.
A medium peel typically takes about 45 minutes to an hour
During treatment, you can expect a burning sensation that may continue for approximately 10 minutes after the peel is finished. Your skin typically returns to its normal color in about 30 to 45 minutes, and an ointment is applied to keep the skin moist and promote healing.
Treatment
The peel is performed over approximately 45 to 60 minutes using the selected peeling agent and treatment plan.
Immediate Sensation
A burning sensation may be felt during treatment and for about 10 minutes afterward.
Post-Treatment Care
An ointment is applied to keep the skin moist and support the healing process.
The visible peeling process is usually complete in about one week

The face initially appears red following treatment.
