Cheek & Chin Implants in the Atlanta Metro Area

Facial implants can change the basic shape and proportion of the face, helping create more balanced contours and a more harmonious relationship among your features.

Facial Balance

Refine facial proportions with a personalized approach

Confidence, self-esteem and an enhanced appearance can all be part of the goal when facial contours feel more balanced.

Our physician often uses facial implants for Atlanta-area patients who want to improve and enhance their facial contours. By changing the basic shape and proportion of the face, implants can help provide a more harmonious balance to the features.

If you are considering chin or cheek implants in metro Atlanta, call (770) 421-1242 or request a consultation online to discuss whether implants are the right choice for you.

Chin Definition

Strengthen the profile by making a weak or receding chin more prominent.

Cheek Fullness

Add fullness or projection to flat cheekbones and restore contour to a face that appears sunken or tired.

Facial Harmony

Choose implant size and placement with the overall proportion of the face in mind.

Chin Augmentation

Profile Balance

A surprisingly meaningful change to facial proportion

Chin augmentation can strengthen the profile by making a weak chin more prominent or building up a receding chin. This change can also influence how the nose appears in relation to the rest of the face.

Procedure

Implant placement directly on the chin bone

Insertion may take approximately 30 minutes to an hour. Through a short incision under the chin or inside the mouth, your plastic surgeon places the selected implant directly on the chin bone and chooses a size and shape intended to complement your features.

Cheek Augmentation

About cheek implants

Cheek implants can add fullness to flat cheekbones, restore contour in a face that appears sunken or tired, and provide projection in different directions depending on the placement selected with your surgeon.

Treatment Goal

Restore or add cheek projection

Mature patients may choose cheek implants to help restore a more youthful appearance, while others may use them to add definition to naturally flatter cheekbones.

Incision Placement

Inside the mouth or through the lower eyelid

The incision is usually made inside the upper lip or through the lower eyelid unless the implant is being placed in conjunction with another facial procedure.

Procedure Time

Approximately 45 minutes or more

Cheek implant surgery may take 45 minutes or longer and can be combined with another facial procedure when appropriate.

Early Healing

Temporary mouth and lip restriction

Stitches placed inside the mouth normally dissolve within about 10 days. Some temporary restriction in mouth and lip movement can occur directly after surgery and should diminish as healing progresses.

Other Possibilities

Non-implant options for facial augmentation

Injectable Fillers

Sculptra® & Restylane SubQ

The source content describes injectable fillers such as Sculptra and Restylane SubQ as office-based options for augmenting the cheeks or chin under local anesthesia. These materials are not permanent and may last for a year or two.

Fat Transfer

Use your own fat to add facial volume

Fat grafting involves taking unwanted fat from another area of the body, often the abdomen or thighs, purifying it and carefully adding it to the face to create natural-looking softness.

Surgery & Recovery

What to expect after facial implant surgery

Your procedure is outpatient, and after a brief recovery period you can return home to begin healing.

01

Outpatient Surgery

Cheek or chin implant surgery can be performed in the practice’s state-certified operating rooms in Marietta, Georgia.

02

First 24–48 Hours

Swelling can be significant after surgery and typically peaks during the first 24 to 48 hours.

03

Several Days to Weeks

Most significant swelling subsides over several days, although mild swelling can continue for several weeks.

04

Protect the Face

Activities may be restricted for several weeks to help avoid jarring or bumping the face while tissues heal around the implant.

Give yourself time to adjust to your new contours. The result can be difficult to evaluate accurately during the first few weeks while swelling resolves. Friends may simply notice that you look better without realizing you had surgery.
