1. Finding the right doctor is important. The first thing you should make sure of when choosing a plastic surgeon is that he or she is board-certified. This means that your surgeon has completed 6 years of surgical training, passed oral and written exams, follows a strict code of ethics, and only operates in accredited facilities. Additionally, make sure your surgeon has specific experience performing eyelid surgeries.
2. Being a little nervous is normal. Surgery is not something that should be taken lightly. Though there are few risks associated with eyelid surgery, it is normal to feel anxious about your procedure. A good way to calm your nerves is to do your research and ask questions before scheduling your surgery appointment. The more you know about what will happen, the better. For most people, anticipation and mystery about the surgery are the most unsettling aspects of any cosmetic change.
3. Your end results will still look like you. Eyelid surgery provides natural-looking results.
