Too Young for Eyelid Surgery?

There is no official age requirement for blepharoplasty. We perform eyelid surgery in metro Atlanta on individuals of all different ages. Younger men and women often choose this procedure to reduce the look of under-eye bags.
Blepharoplasty is the medical term for eyelid surgery. Plastic surgeons use eyelid surgery to correct wrinkles at the sides of the eyes (laugh lines or crow’s feet), ptosis (drooping) of the eyelids, and laxity and fatty deposits that result in bags under the eyes.
Under-eye bags can develop with time as skin loses volume and elasticity and begins to sag. However, in younger individuals, bags under the eyes are often hereditary. Through lower eyelid surgery, your plastic surgeon can use discreet incisions to remove excess tissue and restore firmness to the under-eye area.
This procedure can serve as an excellent option for younger people who may not have wrinkles or drooping lids but have bags under their eyes. Even people in their early 40s can begin to develop undesirable bagginess below their eyes, making them appear older than their years.
