When is the Right Time for a Mommy Makeover?

We offer a combination of procedures known as a Mommy Makeover for women in the Atlanta area who want to restore their bodies following pregnancy. Designed to help moms feel and look great, Mommy Makeovers should be scheduled at the right time. The “right” time, however, will depend on each patient. Here are some things to think about:

  • Pregnancy

Although it is perfectly safe to undergo a Mommy Makeover before having more children, pregnancy can affect the surgical results. For lasting results, it’s best to wait until you are finished having children before undergoing your procedure.

  • Recovery Time

Mommy Makeovers combine multiple surgeries into a single operation, and therefore, adequate recovery time is essential. If you are at a point in your life where you can’t afford to take time away from work, school, or other obligations, you may want to wait. It’s safe to assume that you will need about 1 to 2 weeks of downtime.

  • Emotional Stability

Emotional stability is extremely important for anyone considering a Mommy Makeover. Your decision for surgery should be a well-thought-out, rational choice — not a response to an emotional event.

  • Health

Being in good physical health is not only helpful for a speedy recovery, but it is also a requirement for surgery. Our surgeons recommend that patients stop smoking, maintain a healthy weight, and adopt an active lifestyle prior to their procedure.
