Freezing, Firming, and More: Your Go-To Body Sculpting Treatments

Body sculpting treatments are more popular than ever, and patients have many options. You can freeze away fat or tone up your tummy with a few trusted, reliable procedures.

Liposuction and CoolSculpting® remain popular choices with our Atlanta patients, but there are many more treatments you might be unaware of. This blog post will list some procedures that can help freeze, firm, and sculpt the body.

CoolSculpting

CoolSculpting has remained a consistent crowd favorite–and for good reasons. It is a noninvasive, nonsurgical fat reduction procedure that freezes away fat cells, all without requiring extensive downtime. After placing fatty tissue between 2 cooling panels, the cells are permanently destroyed and slowly shed over time. Treatment is suitable for areas such as the midsection, back, waist, flanks, and more.

CoolSculpting requires no downtime, and patients can return to work or home immediately afterward. Your final results will develop fully over the course of 2 to 3 months.

Liposuction

Liposuction is a surgery that shrinks stubborn fat pockets by permanently removing the fat. A small tube (called a cannula) suctions away fat cells to help sculpt and contour the body. It can be used on a variety of target areas such as the midsection, upper arms, thighs, and chest. It is often paired with other transformational treatments, such as a breast augmentation or tummy tuck as part of a  mommy makeover.

You can return to work within 2 weeks after liposuction surgery. A compression garment may be required for 1 to 2 months afterward.

Tummy Tuck

A tummy tuck is an excellent choice for removing folds of loose, saggy skin. During surgery, the surgeon makes a hip-to-hip incision, allowing them to remove any excess fat and tissue. Tummy tucks can also repair weakened abdominal muscles that may have been damaged during pregnancy. This helps return the midsection to a toned, smooth silhouette that diet and exercise alone can’t achieve.

Patients can return to work 1 to 2 weeks after tummy tuck surgery. It’s best to allow the body to heal for 4 to 6 weeks before engaging in strenuous activities.

LipoDissolve

LipoDissolve is a liposuction alternative offered at our Atlanta practice. It is used for very small areas or even as a touch-up treatment after a traditional liposuction. The procedure involves injecting a compound under the skin that helps dissolve fat. Although LipoDissolve cannot replace traditional liposuction, it is a good alternative for those looking to spot-treat areas such as the chin, jowls, and more.

With so many options now available, patients today can easily find a treatment that works well with their goals and lifestyle.
